In 2017 almost everyone and their mother, cousin, sister and brother have every social media network available (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Etc). Because of this they have been desensitized to most ad’s that they see.
What do we mean by this? We mean that because ads are so prevalent in social media and people see them all day long, they have become easier and easier to ignore as our brain automatically eliminates them from our field of vision.

Before going willy-nilly on your next social media marketing campaign and investing thousands into it, it’s important to research what trends are currently catching people’s attention.
For instance, at the time of this article on Facebook, ads with motion GIF’s are all the craze. A simple scroll down my timeline reveals that most companies are using animated pictures with catchy hook lines to drive traffic off site and onto their own platforms
Is it working, though? Well, if it wasn’t I dare say that it would become less and less common, rather than more and more common. However, as people become more and more accustomed to seeing these live-like images in place of static ads, I do believe we will see engagement and click through rates drop immensely.
You Must Evolve
Creative social media marketing is fluid. It is the river that bends, winds, turns, overflows, goes dry and crashes with sheer force and power while it’s path is dictated by consumerism.
As we have mentioned before in many blogs previous to this one, marketing is an ongoing process. It is never over and what has worked in the past may never work again.
