Popular influencer Tana Mongeau’s fans try Uber in big numbers after kidnapping video.

Rideshare giant Uber, is also a household name.  Despite popularity. Social influencer marketing is bringing the service thousands of new users.  One agency leading the charge is PromoAffiliates. We got Uber some 500,000 new users in the last 18 months.  Making mistakes is the process of being epic.  In any business mistakes are necessary and affirming.

Popular youtuber Tana Mongeau signed with PromoAffiliates earlier this year after being noticed for her storytime videos about Uber.  Tana posted a video to Youtube as instructed but before agency staff from PromoAffiliates could get out all of the information to her people. Tana told a story where she was kidnapped!

This experience proved a two-part lesson for the A&R at PromoAffiliates.  Giving complete freedom of content creation also without review can be risky.  And two, taking risks can pay off!  Within weeks, data showed that Tana’s code had registered over 7,000 new users. Climbing steadily afterward.  It goes to show how trusted they are that even if they are mentioning a negative experience with a brand, conversion rates are still increasing.

 

YouTube and others are also some of the only marketers that can benefit from negative mentions.
